A Community Benefit Fund has also been established to share the financial benefits of the Wind Farm more widely and to support local projects. ACCIONA Energy is committed to helping the Waubra Wind Farm community achieve their chosen goals through financial support from the Community Benefit Fund. The Community Benefit Fund provides $64,000 per year (indexed to CPI) which will contribute over $1.6 million to the local community over the life of the project (25 years).
The Community Benefit Fund is chaired by an elected community member and all funds are administered by the committee for projects and activities of their choice. A Five Year Plan has been established by the committee.
